Every page you host on HTMLPUT is saved to your account automatically. The History tab gives you a complete record of all your hosted pages — with full management capabilities. This guide covers everything you can do with your hosting history.

Why Your Hosting History Matters

Without a hosting history, every time you update a page you’d need to save the HTML locally and re-upload it manually. History eliminates that friction — you can find any past page, regenerate its QR code, download the source file, or update it with new content, all from one place.

Think of it as your personal library of hosted pages — searchable, manageable, and always accessible.

What Each Action Does

👁

View

Opens the hosted page directly in a new tab. Use this to preview how your page looks live, or to share the link with someone.

✏️

Edit

Loads the page’s HTML back into the editor so you can make changes and re-host. The existing share link and QR code remain the same.

⬇️

Download

Downloads the original HTML file to your device. Useful for backing up your work or transferring to another hosting platform.

📷

QR Code

Regenerates the QR code for this page. Available in PNG and SVG formats. Perfect if you need a fresh QR code for print materials.

🗑

Delete

Warning: Deleting a hosted page permanently removes it from your history. The share link will stop working immediately. This action cannot be undone. Make sure you have downloaded a backup if you might need the HTML file again.

When to Use Each Action

Use Edit When

  • You need to fix a typo on a live page
  • You’re iterating on a client design based on feedback
  • You want to update content while keeping the same share link
  • You need to add or change the page’s password

Use Download When

  • You want a local backup of your HTML
  • You’re migrating to a different hosting platform
  • You want to view or edit the code in a local editor

Use QR Code Regeneration When

  • You need a higher-resolution QR code for large print formats
  • You lost the original QR code file
  • You want SVG format instead of PNG

Account Registration Required

Important: Hosting history is only available to registered users. When you host a page without logging in, the page is still live and accessible via its share link, but there is no record stored in your account. To access history, register for a free account — it takes 30 seconds and ensures every page you host is saved to your personal history.

FAQ

Q: How long is my hosting history kept?
A: Forever, as long as your account is active. There is no time limit on history records.

Q: Can I recover a deleted page?
A: No. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Always use Download to back up a page before deleting it if you think you might need the HTML file in the future.

Q: Can I host pages without an account?
A: Yes, but they won’t appear in your history. Registration is free and ensures every page is automatically saved to your account.

Q: Does editing a page create a new history entry?
A: No — editing updates the existing record in place. The share link and history entry remain the same; only the HTML content changes.

Q: Can I download multiple pages at once?
A: Currently each Download action saves one HTML file at a time. Download pages individually as needed.

Q: Can I see statistics on how many people viewed my page?
A: At this time HTMLPUT focuses on hosting and sharing. Page view analytics may be added in a future update.
